Amilia June Farris

Amilia is starting to get her first tooth on the bottom. We just felt the start of something poking from her gums two days ago. Now there is a little white cap.  So far she hasn't had any noticeable fever, but has been a little fussy more than usual.  Next up, tooth fairy. 

Amilia demonstrated all of what she has to offer yesterday to Ildi and Erzsi. Everything from how she laughs to how she is now able to get into the crawling position.

Amilia touched grass for the first time at the same place mommy and daddy were married (11 years ago) at Shoup Park in Los Altos.  This happened a few weeks ago, but we are still catching up on some posts. Mommy and daddy have been busy, busy, busy working and preparing for the new house :)

Here's just a few things you might have missed while we have been missing in action from the blog. Mia started to sit up assisted.  She is now eating oatmeal from a spoon with baby banana food, sweet potato baby food, and pear baby food.  It's messy, but she likes it. So far she has traveled out of state to Colorado and Washington.  Local touristy places, she's been to Santa Cruz and Capitola. She will be headed to Disneyland in October.  Next October she will be on her first Disney Cruise.  Plans are in the works for Hawaii in February.  She will definitely be a traveler, getting to experience all that this life has to offer. We welcomed Amilia into a larger family in July as we had Amilia baptized.  She do very well through the mass and while getting baptized.  She never got upset.  It was great. We all felt very loved and appreciated all who came out to attend her baptism.  Lastly, thank you to her aunty Csilla for being the photographer and taking great pictures, her grandma and grandpa Kathy and John for hosting the reception, and finally her godparents, Kristi and Cristian, for taking on the responsibility that comes with being godparents. Every summer Esther, a Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) puppy raiser, throws a puppy pool party.  We typically attend with our current CCI pup.  This was Tish.  Amilia is enjoying seeing all of the dogs.

Amilia's growing spurts. 4 1/2 months old 7 weeks and 2 days old

Amilia has begun to roll from her back to her stomach.  She is just a little over 18 weeks old now (4 months 1 1/2 weeks) She is definitely growing fast. Here is a video from tonight!  This is the first time we saw it and got it on camera.   She's a little cranky because it was just about her bed time.  Soon after this, she was in her PJ's and fast asleep.

Water + sippy cup = growing up fast The doctor said we can start giving Amilia water.  She doesn't really like it, but we're working on it. Also, what a cute face!

Progression of a tired baby.

Amilia is 4 months old.  She had her vaccines yesterday and so we got her a new chair because she doesn't like getting vaccines.  She's happy now.  She is now 23" and just about 12 pounds.  She is growing so fast.

Amilia visited the SF Zoo today.  She seemed to enjoy the water that was spraying out at the penguin exhibit.  She mostly enjoyed mommy and daddy's faces.  She smiles and laughs when we make faces now.  She slept most of the day.  We think she is going through another growth spurt.  She has been hungry and a little cranky over the last few days.

Amilia went on her first vacation last week.  She has quite a journey.  First airplane ride and first time visiting another state.  Sure she won't remember it, but that's what this blog is for.  She was perfect on her first (and second) airplane ride.  She slept the whole time, during take off and landing. We arrived in Denver in the evening and headed to the hotel where Amilia was going to meet her future God parents and her older cousin for the first time.  When she met Bennett for the first time, he was a little too much for her since he is in the active phase of his development.  However, by the end of the trip, they were beginning to be ok with each other. Amilia attended Aronn's graduation and slept the entire time.  She woke up about 15 minutes before it was finished and she had to eat.  Not bad for a 3 month old at a 2-3 hour event.
